Review of mechanical mod OWL

We present to your attention the OWL mechanical mod.

The package and technical characteristics of the OWL mechanical mod

I don’t want any unnecessary praise — let’s get straight to the point, because there is something to share. First of all, I want to focus on the presentation of the device — it’s just a sensation! No cardboard boxes, no crates of hay, no cheap Chinese plastic boxes — in your hands is an original and simply gorgeous handmade case made of genuine leather. Agree — very noble and rich! The case is neatly embroidered on the sides, and on the front part there is an owl logo (spoiler — this bird will be found here in many places) and 2 rivets.

The OWL mechanical mod itself is in a zip-lock bag (damn, honestly — this spoiled the impression a little, I would have liked some kind of velvety cloth);

originality card with logo and brief instructions, links to the manufacturer on the World Wide Web and serial number (mine is 011);

branded sticker with an owl.

Appearance of the OWL mechanical mod

Isn’t that great!? And it’s a Russian manufacturer! best vape The guys really bothered about presenting their creation – and for this they deserve special respect! And now a few numbers:

Diameter: 24 mm;

height: 89.5 mm (without battery);

weight: 79 grams (with battery – 124 grams);

material: aluminum / copper;

button format: internal;

button mechanism: spring;

features: constant contact with the battery.

Height of the OWL mechanical mod

Lightweight, compact, slightly chilling the hand (but not for long – it will soon heat up!) – everything in it is wonderful and painfully familiar. But there is something to tell about, so let’s get started.

Features of the OWL mech mod

I’ll start with the pipe itself, since everything is very simple at this point. The top is a hybrid connector with a name (“owl” everywhere!) and a serial number (there are no chamfers on the sides or “anti-stick” grooves – and to hell with them, personally it’s convenient for me).

Then the pipe itself with 3 holes “just in case” (therefore, we insert the batteries “+” up). There is a small question about the aluminum surface in terms of processing: if you look closely at my device, you can clearly see stripes from the cutter, which indicates unfinished grinding and polishing of the product (a trifle, but it can be better). Inside there is protection against accidental pressing without an attached atomizer (“foolproof”). The quality of the threads is more than satisfactory and, as always in the case of aluminum, requires care (alcohol wipes to help).

Now the detail that is much more interesting is the button. And I’ll start from the top, where the constant contact element is located (the guys didn’t bother and just made it out of copper – and rightly so) and the insulator, which is responsible for holding it.

We removed these things by pressing the button idle – we move on. Now we should disassemble the rest of the part, for which we need to hold down the button and unscrew the contact itself, presented in the form of a copper “mushroom” with a leg and thread (it’s a little inconvenient to do this …). After that, the rest of the button parts will disconnect by themselves, thereby presenting the entire design.

Conclusions

So, I would like to draw an imaginary line and outline some nuances that I would improve in this device:

Pipe processing (maybe I was not very lucky, but grinding/polishing is a little lacking);

spring tightness (in the summer, when you can easily sweat under the scorching sun, using the fur becomes a little uncomfortable);

maintenance (namely, assembly/disassembly of the button – the “brother” has very useful holes in the pin, which I personally miss a little here);

fast heating of the pipe (but it is compensated by the same fast cooling).

And if we talk about the advantages – lightness, performance, gorgeous presentation (as I look at the case – life becomes brighter!). The OWL mechanical mod will serve you as an excellent assistant for every day for releasing huge clouds of steam and enjoying a variety of delicious liquids.
