In this article, we will look at the new version of the “engine box mod” from the Chinese manufacturer Augvape.

Last year, Augvape introduced a very noticeable and remarkable V200 box mod, the creation of which was inspired by the Honda B18C Type R engine. In addition to the recognizable appearance, the device also had many useful solutions, as well as a variety of functionality. After some time, the guys from Augvape decided to slightly update their brainchild, improving and slightly modifying the box mod, and the result was a conditionally new product in an old case called VTEC1.8. Let’s get acquainted with the new product.

This is the first look at the device, a detailed review of the box mod can be read here: Augvape VTEC 1.8 Box Mod. Updated engine

Visually, it will be very difficult to distinguish the new version of the “engine” from the old one, but some changes will be encountered further in the article. In the meantime, it is worth noting the colors available to buyers: black, red and blue. canadian vaping The latter replaced the white one, which was featured in the V200. The device is made of traditional zinc alloy, and its weight without a battery is about 165g.

The most noticeable difference of the new VTEC1.8 is the leather insert on the back of the device, designed to improve the ease of use and holding in the hand.

The box mod still operates on two replaceable 18650 batteries, and the compartment cover, as before, is folding. The manufacturer also assures about the strengthening of this part of the mod’s design. The board installed inside has undergone some modifications in terms of software, but retained its original functionality and four vaping modes: VW, V Mode, bypass and Auto.

The VTEC1.8 controls remained in their usual places, and the same “wheel” is used as a power regulator, protected from liquid ingress. The Fire button has not changed in the same way and is hidden under the front panel, and is also equipped with an LED.
